TAKE ACTION - ARCHIVE
RMSC has become an adjunct member of the National Religious Campaign Against Torture. Please review the link to the Statement of Conscience and consider endorsing it.
The Military Commissions Act of 2006 represents the widening chasm between the intent of our laws regarding torture, cruelty and inhumane treatment and the actual intentions of our Administration in the war on terror. Please see the Center for Victims of Torture (CVT) website and read Ruth Barrrett-Rendler's statement and the Frequently Asked Questions regarding the Act, and then consider writing your Congressperson or Senator about this issue.
RMSC joins with CVT, the IRCT and all other people of good faith in calling the Administration to account for their continuing support of practices which are contrary to international law. America once led the charge against torture; it cannot afford to even appear to support torture now.
RMSC supports the advocacy efforts of the Center for Victims of Torture in Minneapolis, and urges Coloradoans to write their legislatures about these issues.
